How to Style: Sheer Pieces W/ Pearl Embellishments

I am obsessed with all things pearls. They are timeless and as Jackie Kennedy says, “Pearls are always appropriate”. Lately there have been so many pieces coming out with pearl embellishments – a fresh way to wear this classic gem.

Right now I’m loving the look of sheer tops with pearl embellishments. This one in particular has a turtleneck and billowing sleeves to give it a feminine yet edgy look. The easiest way to wear one of these tops is to layer under a cami in a matching color, though you could do another color if you like.

I really wanted to play up the edgy glam vibe with this outfit so kept it in all black but played with prints and textures. I always feel like polka dots and pearls go so well together and then a leather skirt ups that edgy factor. I topped it off with a pearl headband and pearl embellished boots (old from Express).

Next keeping with the black theme, I fell in love with this sheer dress and instantly new I was going to layer it over my black slip. Again I kept the headband and added my favorite heels.

I love how classy this looks without being typical. This might be my NYE outfit!

Lastly, this was the first top I saw when shopping last weekend (unfortunately it’s not available online). I love the crisp white for a more flirty and feminine look.

I paired it with my favorite red skirt for a holiday party ready outfit and decided to go with white booties to balance out the white top. Also layered under the top is a dressier white cami to keep it very elegant. And last but not least I had to top it off with these pearl hair clips I have been loving.

I hope this post inspires you to try out this trend! Let me know your thoughts in the comments. ☺
