How to Transition Your Printed Skirt Into Fall

Fall is officially just around the corner, so it’s time to start thinking of ways to transition our beloved summer pieces. One of my favorite pieces this summer has been this black and white leopard print skirt (it’s called the “Short Denim Skirt” on their website) from H&M.

I know you’re probably thinking, “This girl sure gets a lot of her clothes from H&M” and it’s true. I love that they offer affordable classics AND affordable trends. I have pieces that I have worn for several years from H&M and they’re still in great shape! So if you’re on a budget, this is a great place to shop. (Not sponsored, I just love this store!) They have quite the variety of styles.

Anyway, if you’re like me and want to get the most out of your summer wardrobe, it’s time to get creative and find ways to transition those favorites. So here are some ideas to transition your favorite printed skirt into fall!

Take advantage of that in between weather and pair your printed skirt with a fun pair of mules and a great blazer. Depending on the length and material of your skirt, you could wear this outfit to the office.

Enjoying those warmer days still? Pair this skirt with a pair of espadrille wedges, a utility jacket, and a tote bag for a casual look that’s ready for your weekend plans. I also layered a black bodysuit underneath for an easy “tucked-in” look without the extra material.

Layer over a cardigan and spice it up with some textured footwear and a uniquely shaped bag! These flats are among my absolute favorites in my shoe collection. I love the pretty ballet pink with the pointed toe and most of all, the fur strap across the center of the foot. Never underestimate the impact of great footwear!

Speaking of great footwear, I thought these heels were a fun way to add a little bit more personality to the printed skirt paired with a classic jacket and bag. Of course you don’t have to go with fur on your shoes. You could add a pop of color instead! I would wear this to see a musical or out to dinner.

Prefer to keep it casual and maybe embrace the athleisure trend? Pop on your favorite sneakers with a bag to match and a comfy-cool sweatshirt. You’ll be able to tackle anything the day throws at you in this outfit!

Prefer a lighter color palette? Here I layered a white long-sleeve under a cream and gold vest, popped on some tan booties and a red bag for a bit of color. Cream and white may seem like an odd combination but what makes it so great is that it’s unexpected while still being neutral. Now grab a friend and go out for that pumpkin spice latte!

Still keeping it light in color but cozy for those chillier days. Instead of layering over a vest, cozy up in your favorite scarf. Bonus points if the color of your scarf and bag match!

Finally, it’s hard to go wrong with a black lightweight sweater and embellished accessories. I chose burgundy flats with pearls and gold studs to keep things interesting while still being comfortable.

I hope this post gave you some ideas for transitioning your favorite skirt into fall!
