How to Style: Polka Dot Pants

Polka dots are a trend that first appeared in fashion in the 1840’s. Over the year’s it’s popularity has risen and fallen, but ultimately they always come back around, especially during the Spring and Summer.

Currently, polka dots have been seen all over pants and trousers, from casual wear to office wear. The pants I have here are a lightweight, high-waisted, wide-leg style from H&M. (Links to the pants and other items will be included below.)

Here I styled these beautiful pants with a simple white camisole and some fabulous accessories. I love how the crisp white top really makes the polka dots pop and the silver accessories compliment the combination.

I would wear this to an event or out with the girls. The polka dots really make this outfit fun and flirty as opposed to a plain pair of pants.

Next I layered a cream blazer (also from H&M) over the top for a slight contrast. I love that this blazer has no buttons, as it is meant to be worn open. This outfit could easily be worn to the office and out for drinks afterwards.

Keeping with the outerwear theme – I really liked the look of adding a soft pink into the color palette. This is one of my favorite light coats that instantly makes an outfit look chic. I added a pair of soft pink heels to match. Of course you don’t have to wear heels with any of these outfits, I just personally love a good pair.

Layering a light coat is a great way to transition these fabulous printed pants into fall as the weather cools down.

Another way to transition these to fall, is to layer over the trusty denim jacket – a must have in your wardrobe! I popped on a pair of neutral mules to finish off the look and keep it more casual.

This would be a great outfit to wear for brunch or strolling around on the weekend.

Prefer more volume on top? Layer on a poncho with a belt to still cinch in your waist. I love how fun yet comfy this outfit is! Of course mine is in a soft pink (I consider this shade to be a neutral in my wardrobe) and I paired it with matching shoes.

Are you starting to feel ready for fall but the weather is still too hot for layers? Try a sleeveless turtleneck! I find sleeveless turtlenecks to be so flattering. Here I decided to add a little pop of color with my top and then keep my shoes neutral to balance it out. I also added a more edgy style bag to keep this outfit interesting.

Still loving the summer weather? Give your outfit a more flirty look with some lace detail and a pop of bright pink. Pop on some cute sandals to keep up with the warm weather. You can wear this outfit anywhere for a fun yet casual day to day look.

I hope you have enjoyed these looks as much as I enjoyed putting them together for you!
